Money making guide to poker and other online ventures

Home and No Limit
Hello and welcome to my site, Money Making Poker tips. If you wanted to make money playing poker but are not sure where to start or have played before with little success this is for you. If you follow the tips outlined and act on the tools and tricks recommended you will be making big money with online poker in no time(as well other great money making options) .Please bookmark this site as there is alot to digest in one sitting
Ive been playing poker for money for many many years now and online for eight. Real poker (with people in the same room) is great fun but not good for making money.  Its slow with less cash(unless you know lots of foolish rich people) so online its where the money is made.
I started playing online with no money down and have earned in excess of $500,000, using the methods and tools outlined in the site. I dont have to get up at any set time, can play as little or as much as I like and have plenty of money to enjoy life. If your willing to risk a little, commit and eduacate yourself then you too could be making huge profits playing poker, remember "fortune favours the brave". I also have very profitable experiences in other online ventures including- Limit Poker, Tournament Poker, Blackjack, Betfair Trading,Sports Arbitrage Betting, Racing Systems,Forex Trading and Ebay Selling
                                        No Limit Texas Holdem

NL Texas holdem is the best poker game for making money, im sure most of you will know the rules but if not the can be found here. Holdem poker is the by far the most played poker game online and requires the most skill- great for making money. Limit holdem can make you money but not to the level of No Limit.

Fundamentals
  • Cash Management - The most important of all. You must make sure you don't over expose yourself by playing above your limit. Ive seen many good poker players give up their dream of full time playing due to them increasing their stakes too fast. You shouldn't have more than 20% of your total at one table as a few bad hands could result in you being wiped out.
  • Mentality- Don't get too upset/mad when you lose to a bad beat because in the long run you'll end up in profit. Don't start playing more hands to make up for a loss, take a deep breath and carry on. If you are still mad then take a break and came back later. Also if your winning don't get cocky and start playing weak hands, bluffing to much or as above move up stakes too fast- it could end in tears.
  • Volume-If you make money playing one table, think how much you can make playing seven like me.  At first you should only play one table at a time to get used to the game and the software. Pretty soon you will realise how many hands you are folding and how boring it can become. You will start playing weaker hands just to keep your self interested- very bad idea if making money is your plan. I would say play at least four tables (play on more than one site at a time if need be) for two reasons- to stop boredom and of course if your a winning player (which you will be) multiply your money making.
  • Discipline- Always stick to premium hands and dont rely on lucky cards coming down if you believe your behind. Weak calling is the way you make money off others- "May as well call, any two cards can win" attitude, make sure you dont cut into your profits by calling when you know you shouldn't. Dont be afraid to call/raise if you think your behind but have a good chance of hitting a pot winner for good money, see pot odds below.
  • Odds/Pot odds- With all types of poker odds are very important, without a firm grasp of them you have little chance of making any money. In Holdem half of it is deciding which hands to fold pre flop, which to raise and which to call. What hands exactly depends on a number of factors including the number of players and the tightness of the table. Pot odds is the chance you have of winning combined with the profit if successful and loss if not successful. The idea is to call/raise if you are getting "pot odds" for example- if the call is $10 with the pot at $100 with your chance of winning at 25% it makes good sense to call, you probably wont win this time(75%chance of loss) but in the long run you will be up( One hundred pots the same as this you will lose your $10 seventy five times -$750 but win the $100 the other twenty five times +$2500; making a huge $1750 in the long run). Because there are bets every stage of the game you need to make these pot odd decisions every time- the difficult part is working out your expected change of winning. Its not as hard as it seams and with a little help and practice you will get the hang of it.
  • Education- With any type of activity reading up and learning as much as possible from experts is the way to improve quickly- the difference with online poker is that if you don't it can be the difference of making $25,000+ in your first year and barely breaking even. I can recommend a brilliant guide, written by a fellow professional, which will tell you in FULL DETAIL exactly how to achieve a huge income from online poker.          Now the fundamentals are done lets look at some “do’s” and “don’ts” which you should follow to ensure long term money making from No Limit Texas holdem.

Do's

  • Call cheap for the nuts (best possible hand given the board) – Its worth calling down with high(not even a pair) hands if there is a good chance, given the pot (see pot odds above) , of you making a monster. The most common is a nut flush where you hold the ace (or king if the ace is on board) and often weaker players will call with ANY two suited cards in hope of a flush. If you hit your nut hand you will take all their money.
  • Play the player- Every poker site I play on has the ability to make notes on a player, which indefinitely stores info next to their name. Use this feature every time you notice anything different about the player like they play loose or bluff a lot. This means watch the table even if your not in the hand-information is priceless. You don’t need to write much but any personality traits can help you making whose tough decisions.
  • Use more than one site- I have money in many different poker sites, mainly because of the online bonus they offer. Most will offer sign up bonus (can be as much as 100% deposit match) and reload bonuses which are released as you play- take advantage of them its free money. The best sites with EXCLUSIVE bonuses can be found  HERE. Every site mentioned will have a great online bonus. Use them its free money.
  • Bet- I know it sounds silly but make sure you make the best of your winning hands by winning the maximum amount of money. Many people don’t bet enough with their premium hands which is costly in the long run. A lot of people playing online are calling stations who will call with anything “Just in case”- take advantage of this a bleed them dry.
  • Reload if your tables stack drops below 50% of the table maximum. This is because you will have the short stack mentality and get bullied by other players. You may find people putting you all-in more often pre flop, forcing you to gamble more-not good. Also you cant maximize your premium all-ins, costing you money in the long run.

             Don’ts

  • Get too emotional or personal- I know it can be hard but try and keep a level head EVERY hand, don’t try to get revenge on a player who might have got lucky against you. Keep cool claim and collective- people will get lucky against you every day- emotion has no place in a good poker player.
  • Get married to a hand- Make sure you don’t over play a hand which started well but got worse as the board progressed. The must common is high pocket pairs where people will not fold, regardless of the board. Do play them and do bet hard but make sure you have the discipline to fold if they go wrong- don’t throw good money after bad.
  • Over expose yourself- Always stick to the 20% rule as discussed in Cash Management, but also make sure you are comfortable going all in with your stack. For example you started with $200 played some good poker and had $600 an hour later, another guy is there playing rags but getting lucky he’s managed to get up to $550. You are sat there with KK and this clown goes all pre flop (he’s getting cocky from his good luck) normally you call without a thought but as is so much do you want to risk it? Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
  • Bluff too much- People call big bets far too much for their own good in no limit holdem, this is how you will make big money, don’t throw it away making silly bluffs- you cant win every hand- if you are going to  bluff try and don it against a tight player. My favorite bluff is called the “semi bluff” where your on a draw for either a straight or a flush- if they fold great you have won a pot without  a hand but if they  call you have outs to hit a monster hand.

The poker tips explained above will help you earn money playing NL Texas Holdem, however it may take a few months for you to maximize your winnings- this could cost you a lot in decreased profits (you will still make good money but not big money).
